African American History Projects

The National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) has joined the National Archives and Family Search to create an online, searchable database of former enslaved persons whose names appear in the Freedmen's Bureau Records between 1865-1872.  They are seeking volunteers to help with indexing the records that will form the bulk of the database. Volunteers are wanted to help. If you are interested visit the website: www.nmaahc.si.edu
(click on "Get Iinvolved," then, "Freedsmen's Bureau.")
