African American Genealogy Group of the Miami Valley

AAGGMV members attended a 2 day genealogy conference sponsored by the Delaware Co., Indiana Genealogy Society held at the Muncie, Indiana Public Library. AAGGMV shared a display area featuring materials and techniques used in researching African American families. The purpose of this effort was an attempt by the Delaware Co., Indiana Genealogy Society to expose the Muncie area to African American genealogy research. It was moderately successful. The display area was shared with John Logan of the Philiadelphia, Pennsylvania AAGS and Charles Barker of the Indiana AA Genealogy Society (IAAGS). John and Charles are President's of their respective genealogy societies. AAGGMV members who attended were Irita Canady, Larry Hamilton and Art & Anita Thomas.
